Where is your coffee roasted?
We roast all of our coffee in Sonoma County, California, using a smokeless Loring Smart Roaster built just down the road in Santa Rosa. We've been roasting here since 1993.
Why does it matter that it’s roasted locally?
Local roasting means fresher coffee and a smaller carbon footprint. It also supports California jobs and businesses. The closer your coffee is roasted to home, the better it tastes, and the more your purchase benefits the local economy.
How fresh is your coffee when it ships?
We roast in small batches several times per week. Our bags usually ship within 2 days of roasting. Canned products are roasted by the pallet and ship fast, especially customer favorites like Goat Rock.
Can I tell when my coffee was roasted?
Yes. We label every bag and can with a Julian date (standard in food manufacturing) so you can see exactly when it was roasted.
Do you support sustainable practices?
Absolutely. We roast with a low-emission system and package our coffee in recyclable fiber cans made from 90% post-consumer material. It’s lighter than steel and better for the planet, and your cup.
What certifications do you have?
All of our coffees are USDA Organic, Fair Trade Certified, and Kosher. We’re committed to quality, sustainability, and transparency in everything we do.

Since 1993, when we began roasting in a barn in Occidental, California, we’ve been committed to sustainability and flavor. We started with just a few organic farm partners, and over the years, we’ve expanded our offerings as more producers joined the movement. Today, we continue to push for ethical sourcing, quality roasting, and better coffee for everyone.
